This morning I’m listening to Lightspeed Champion’s Falling of the Lavender Bridge, an album I first started listening to at the time my father was hospitalized after he suffered an aneurysm. Music is a funny beast. Sometimes it acts as a device that comforts and consoles, but more often than not it serves as a cruel reminder to the things you want to forget for the sake of self-preservation.

I miss my father so much right now I can almost feel my heart being slowly drilled from the inside out.
